Your Profile and Verification
For EveryoneYour Sayzo profile is how the marketplace gets to know you. For a Task Doer, it is the profile that Task Givers see when your skills match their task, so a complete, verified profile helps you get matched and trusted. This section walks you through building that profile and verifying your identity.
Sayzo guides you through a five step Build Your Profile wizard right after you confirm your email: Profile, Skills, Professional, Credentials, and Verification. Only three things actually unlock the app: a verified email, a basic profile (your gender and a saved location), and a verified Aadhaar. The skills, professional, credentials and tax steps are all optional and can be skipped, then filled in later.
You can return to any part of your profile after onboarding from your Profile screen and the deeper Edit Profile page, where each section saves on its own.
Before you start: confirming your email
Onboarding begins with an email check so Sayzo knows your address is real. You will see Check your inbox with the message that a 6 digit code was sent to your email. A masked version of your email (for example ab*@domain) is shown with a Change link if you need to correct it.
To confirm your email:
- Open your inbox and find the 6 digit code from Sayzo.
- Type the code into the six boxes. You can paste it and the boxes fill automatically.
- If the code did not arrive, wait for the Resend in m:ss countdown (it starts at 50 seconds) and then tap Resend OTP.
- Tap Verify Email & Continue.
If you see Invalid or expired code. Please try again., request a fresh code and re-enter it. Once verified, you move on to Step 1. Your email is encrypted and never sold to third parties.
Step 1: Your profile details
This is your public profile, the part Task Givers see when your profile matches their task. The header reads Build your public profile.
Fill in these details:
- Profile Photo (optional): tap Upload Photo and choose a JPG or PNG image up to 2MB. Your photo passes an automated content check; if it is still being checked you may see a short wait, and if it does not pass you will be asked to choose a different image.
- Full Name as per Aadhaar (required): enter your name exactly as it appears on your Aadhaar, since this is what your identity check is matched against.
- Gender (required): choose Male, Female, Other, or Prefer not to say.
- Short Bio (optional): up to 160 characters, with a live counter as you type.
- Your Location (required): set your location on the map. Sayzo can use your device location and lets you search; your city and state are worked out from the point you save.
- Your Daily Availability (required): pick 1-2 Hours (Part-time), 2-5 Hours (Regular), or 5-8 Hours (Full-time). The default is Regular.
Tap Save & Continue to move to Skills. Your name, gender and location are required, so the button stays disabled until those are filled. If something is missing you will see Please add your name, gender and location to continue.
Step 2: Adding your skills (Task Doers)
The Skills step is where you tell Sayzo what you do. Each skill you add becomes its own matchable entry, so being specific here improves how you get matched. The header reads Build your skill profile.
You build your skills across four columns (on mobile this is a short four step flow):
- Pick a Domain, your core area of work (for example a tech, legal or finance domain). You can search to find it.
- Pick a Category within that domain.
- Under What do you do?, tick the sub-skills you actually do. You can select several.
- Under Tap to set your level, tap each deep skill chip to cycle through Beginner, Intermediate and Expert (tap again to clear it). If your domain has experience bands, you can also pick your Years of experience.
A running summary shows how many skills you have selected across your categories. Tap Save & Continue when done. You must select at least one sub-skill or deep skill to save, otherwise you will see Select at least one sub-skill or deep skill to continue.
- Your primary domain, the one with the most selected skills, becomes your profile headline (your profession).
- This step is optional. You can tap Skip for now and add skills later, but completing it strengthens your profile and matching.
Step 3: Professional details (Task Doers)
Some domains need registration or practice details, for example a professional licence or registration number for regulated work. The header reads Your professional details, and the fields you see depend on the domains you selected in Skills and on your region.
- Each domain shows its own set of fields, grouped into sections such as Registration or Practice Card. Required fields are marked with an asterisk; others are marked (optional).
- Some fields are documents. Tap Upload for the document (PDF, JPEG, PNG or WEBP), and once uploaded you can Replace it.
- If none of your selected skills need professional details, you will see a Nothing to add here card and the button simply reads Continue.
Tap Save & Continue to move on. Your saved values are remembered if you come back. This step is optional, so you can also tap Skip for now.
Step 4: Education, certificates and languages
This step lets you add education, certificates and languages. It is described as boosting your profile trust score and matching rate, and everything here is optional. You can type freely.
- Education: tap Add Education and enter your Degree or Course Name (needed to keep the row), plus Institution and Year. You can edit or delete rows.
- Certificates: tap Add Certificate and enter the Certificate Name (required), plus Issuing Organisation, Year, and an optional Credential URL.
- Languages: type a language and tap Add, then set its level to native, fluent or basic. Sayzo starts you off with Hindi (native) and English (fluent), which you can change.
Tap Save & Continue to reach the final step, or Skip for now if you would rather add these later.
Step 5: Verifying your identity with DigiLocker
Identity verification is the one step you must complete to finish onboarding. Sayzo verifies your Aadhaar & PAN securely through DigiLocker, a trusted third party service. The header reads Verify your identity and notes the check takes under a minute.
To verify:
- On the Aadhaar & PAN (DigiLocker) row, tap Verify with DigiLocker. The button briefly shows Redirecting....
- DigiLocker opens (in a popup window on the web, or your system browser in the mobile app). Give your consent there.
- When you finish, you return to Sayzo and the row shows a green Verified pill. The confirmation shows Identity verified with your Aadhaar and PAN in masked form (only the last digits).
A note reminds you that Aadhaar verification is required to finish onboarding. The Finish button stays disabled until your Aadhaar shows Verified. If verification does not complete, you will see Verification did not complete with a Try again option.
Your full Aadhaar number is not stored; it is masked. A Verified badge means a particular check was completed, it is not a guarantee of identity, character or conduct. For more on how Sayzo handles safety and what verification does and does not mean, see Trust, Safety and Verification.
Adding your tax details (optional)
On the same Verification step you can optionally add tax identifiers. These are useful for tax compliant invoices and reporting, and they are stored securely and shown masked.
- PAN: enter your 10 character PAN (for example ABCDE1234F) and tap Save. Sayzo checks the format and shows PAN must be 10 characters, e.g. ABCDE1234F if it is wrong.
- GST number (GSTIN): if you are GST registered, tick I am registered under GST, enter your 15 character GSTIN (for example 29ABCDE1234F1Z5) and tap Save. An invalid number shows Enter a valid 15-character GSTIN.
Both PAN and GSTIN are optional, encrypted at rest, and displayed masked after you save them.
What blocks access, and the complete profile prompt
Only three things are required to use Sayzo as a Task Doer:
- A verified email.
- A basic profile, meaning your gender is set and you have saved a location.
- A verified Aadhaar.
Everything else (skills, professional details, credentials and tax) can be skipped and finished later. That is why those steps show Skip for now.
If you skipped parts of your profile, Sayzo reminds you with a prompt that reads Complete your task-doer profile to start doing tasks, shown on your Home, task and Profile screens. It may list what is still needed and offers a Complete profile link that takes you back into the wizard.
Editing your profile, photo, email and phone later
You can update your profile any time. Open Profile from the app, where you see your photo, name, profession, location, rating, reviews and tasks done, your About, and your Core Skills and Sub Skills. Tap Edit Profile to change your basic details.
From the edit form you can:
- Change your Full Name, Bio, Profession, Daily Availability, Timezone, Locale, LinkedIn URL and Gender. Only the fields you change are saved, and a Save changes button appears once you make an edit. You will see Profile updated. on success.
- Change your photo by tapping your avatar or Change Photo and choosing a JPEG, PNG or WebP image. Other formats are rejected, and the new photo goes through the same content check before it appears.
- Turn your Availability Badge on or off. When it is on, you show as Online now with a green dot.
Your mobile number and email are not edited as plain text, because your phone is your login identity and your email must be confirmed. Each uses a verified code flow:
- Next to Mobile Number or Email ID, tap Change.
- Enter the new number or address and tap Send code. A 6 digit code is sent to the new number or address.
- Enter the code and tap Verify & update. You will see a confirmation that the new number or email is now verified.
If your email is on file but not yet verified, a Verify button appears next to Change; tapping it sends a code to your existing address so you can confirm it. To change your location, use the map picker on the deeper Edit Profile page, since location is set from the map and not typed in as free text.
Your public profile and why verification matters
Your public profile is what others see. You can open it in the app and share it using the Share icon on your Profile, which copies a public link to your profile (you can also share via WhatsApp, X, LinkedIn or Telegram). Anyone with the link can view a chromeless version of your profile on the web, with a Join Sayzo button.
- The public profile shows your name, headline, Member since date, your Rating and Reviews, your Skills and Verified skill counts, your About, and your Core Skills and Sub Skills.
- Your exact location is not shown on the public profile. Education, certificates and languages are only shown to signed in viewers, so anonymous web viewers see your name, bio, skills, ratings and counts.
Verification matters because it builds trust on both sides of the marketplace. A verified Aadhaar is what lets you start doing tasks, your verified identity and completed skills reassure Task Givers, and your skills and credentials feed directly into how Sayzo matches you. For how matching uses your skills and levels, see Matching and Skill Scoring, and for how money is protected once a task starts, see Payments, Escrow and Payouts.
