Frequently Asked Questions
For EveryoneThis section answers the questions people ask most often about using Sayzo. The answers are short on purpose. Where a topic needs more detail, we point you to the matching full section of this manual, such as Payments, Escrow and Payouts or Help, Cancellations and Disputes.
Throughout, a Task Giver is someone who posts work and pays for it, and a Task Doer is someone who does the work and earns. Some answers apply to one role, some to both.
Getting started
What is Sayzo?
Sayzo is a hyperlocal task marketplace that connects Task Givers, who post work, with Task Doers, who do the work and earn. You describe what you need in plain language, Sayzo's AI turns it into a structured task, and you get matched with verified local Doers near you. Payment is held in escrow and released only when you confirm the work is done.
How do I create an account?
You can start from the website or the Sayzo app. Tap Sign up, create your account, and complete the steps in onboarding. You must be 18 or older to register, post, or perform tasks. For the full walkthrough, see Getting Started: Creating Your Account.
Do I have to choose between being a Task Giver and a Task Doer?
No. The same account can post tasks and do tasks. Your home dashboard adapts to what you are doing, showing posted tasks and applications when you act as a Giver, and suggested tasks and activity when you act as a Doer.
Posting and doing tasks
How do I post a task?
Describe what you need in plain language. Sayzo's AI reads your message and extracts the budget, deadline, skills, and category, then builds the listing for you. You review and confirm before anything is posted. For details, see For Task Givers: Posting and Managing Tasks.
A few things to keep in mind when you write your task:
- Describe clearly: say what you need, by when, and what the finished result should look like.
- Set a realistic budget: fair pay attracts skilled, committed Doers.
- Keep it on platform: discuss and pay through Sayzo so escrow protection applies.
How do I find work as a Task Doer?
Build your profile, verify your identity, and list your skills. There is no bidding and no proposals to chase: Sayzo's AI matches incoming tasks to your skill profile and notifies you, and you choose which ones to take. You can also browse and apply to tasks directly. See For Task Doers: Finding and Doing Work.
Why was a task blocked when I tried to post it?
Some categories are not allowed on Sayzo. If your request appears to involve a prohibited category, you will see a red Not allowed on Sayzo message and the task will not be posted. You may also see an advisory content check that suggests improvements; that advisory does not block posting. For the list of prohibited categories, see Trust, Safety and Verification.
Matching
How does Sayzo matching work?
Once your task is live, Sayzo scans verified Doers near you, ranked by skill match, ratings, trust signals, and proximity within your local radius. You receive a shortlist of matched Doers with their profiles. Marketing materials describe matching as fast, often in a short window after posting. See Matching and Skill Scoring for the full picture.
What does the percentage Score on a Doer mean?
Each matched Doer shows a match Score as a percentage from 0 to 100, displayed as a bar. It reflects how well that Doer fits your task. It is not a Beginner, Intermediate, or Expert badge: those skill levels are used elsewhere, such as when a Doer lists skills or when a task sets an experience level.
Where exactly are Doers on the map?
The map shows how far each matched Doer is from your task, but not their exact direction or address. A Doer's precise location is private and is never exposed, so the distance is honest while the position on the map is approximate.
Can I talk to a Doer before I pay?
Yes. In negotiation mode, chat opens so you can discuss scope, price, and timeline. Once both sides agree, Sayzo can unlock private calling and a video meeting for a quick brief or interview before any payment is made. Terms lock only when you are ready. See Chat and Calls.
Payments and escrow
Is the Task Doer paid in advance?
No. There are no advance payments. When you fund a task, your money is held in Sayzo escrow. It is released to the Task Doer only when you approve the delivery.
What do I actually pay as a Task Giver?
Your Total payable is the task budget plus a Platform fee and any GST on that fee. The exact fee comes from Sayzo at the time you pay, shown in the payment summary before you confirm. We do not quote a fixed percentage here.
When is payment released to the Doer?
Your payment stays in escrow until you confirm the task is complete. When you tap Release Payment, the funds are transferred to the Doer, typically within 24 hours. If you neither release nor raise a dispute within 72 hours of delivery, the payment is automatically released to the Doer.
Note that releasing payment cannot be undone, so review the delivery before you approve it.
Can I get my money back?
Yes, before the payment is released. As a Task Giver you can refund the held escrow, in full or in part, from the task's payment area using the Refund Escrow action. If work was not delivered or does not match what was agreed, raise a dispute instead. See Payments, Escrow and Payouts and Help, Cancellations and Disputes.
How do I withdraw my earnings as a Task Doer?
Your released earnings build up in your Wallet as Available to withdraw. To withdraw, you need two things in place first:
- A payout method, either a UPI ID or a bank account.
- Your PAN added to your tax details.
Until both are added, the Withdraw button is disabled and a card lists what is still missing. Once you withdraw, the payout settles inline and a receipt is available.
Are my bank and UPI details safe?
Yes. Payout details are stored encrypted, and only a masked version is shown back to you afterward.
Where do I get a GST invoice?
Open a task's payment details and tap Download Invoice to get a printable Tax invoice showing the Subtotal, Platform fee, GST, and Total. An invoice is available only once the task has a settled payment.
Cancellations, disputes and refunds
Can I cancel a task after it is assigned?
Yes. You can cancel before work begins for a full refund. If the Doer has already started, cancellation terms depend on progress, and a partial fee may apply to cover the work completed. Open the task to file the cancellation and see the terms. Only active or in-progress tasks can be cancelled.
What if a Task Doer does not show up?
After a short waiting period at the agreed time, a no-show counts as a Doer no-show. The Task Giver is fully refunded, and repeated no-shows can lead to account action against the Doer. Your escrowed payment is never released until you confirm completion.
How do I raise a dispute or get a refund?
If a task is not delivered or does not match what was agreed, raise a dispute from the task within the dispute window after delivery. To do this:
- Open Help & Support and go to the Trust & Safety tab, then Disputes, or start from the task or payment details.
- Select the task the dispute is about.
- Pick a dispute type, such as Payment not released or Work quality not acceptable.
- Describe the issue, including dates, amounts, and what you expected versus what happened, then submit.
Sayzo reviews the evidence from both sides and decides fairly, refunding the escrow amount to your original payment method where a refund is due. Disputes and live support are answered within 24 to 48 hours. See Help, Cancellations and Disputes.
Safety and verification
How are Task Doers verified?
Verification is layered. It can include government ID verification, phone and email confirmation, and skill validation for listed categories, with ratings and reviews from completed tasks shown on the profile. Identity verification can be done securely through DigiLocker, and your Aadhaar number is masked and not stored in full.
Does a Verified badge guarantee a person is safe?
No. A Verified badge means a particular check was completed. It is not a guarantee of identity, character, qualifications, or safety. Always use your own judgement, keep communication and payment on Sayzo, and follow the guidance in Trust, Safety and Verification.
Why should I keep payments on Sayzo?
Off-platform payments remove your escrow protection. If you pay outside Sayzo, your money is no longer held safely and you have no recourse if something goes wrong. Keep payments and chat on the platform.
How do I report someone or get help in an emergency?
To report a person or a task, open Help & Support, go to Trust & Safety, and choose Report a User. You can also open Report a User from within a chat, which fills in the person for you. In a real-world emergency, contact the public emergency services: Police 112, the women's helpline 1091, and the child helpline 1098. For financial cyber fraud, call 1930 or use the national cybercrime portal.
Account and notifications
Where do I see my tasks, payments and updates?
Your home dashboard shows your active and completed tasks and your totals, such as Total Spent for Givers and Total Earned for Doers. A recent activity panel surfaces new bids and notifications. Your Wallet and full transaction history live in the Payments area.
How do I close my account?
You can close your account at any time. You also have rights over your personal data, including access, correction, erasure, and withdrawing consent, which you can exercise through your account settings or the Grievance Officer. See the Privacy Policy and Notifications and Account Settings.
Who do I contact if I have a complaint?
Start with Request Live Support under Trust & Safety, which opens a support thread with the Sayzo team. For formal grievances, Sayzo's Grievance Officer can be reached at contact@sayzo.in. Complaints are acknowledged and resolved within the timelines set out in Sayzo's policies.
